Temple Grandin is one of the most famous individuals with autism in the world. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a professor of ethology at the University of Colorado, and the author of successful books that have sold more than a million copies worldwide. In 2010, HBO produced a film about her life, which won a Golden Globe in 2011 and 7 Emmy awards in 2010. That same year, Time Magazine included her among the most significant people of the year.
Temple Grandin’s books offer a unique perspective on how a person with autism lives and greatly contribute to raising awareness of this behavioral disorder among the general public. Within the autism community, among her students, and within animal rights activist groups, Temple Grandin is seen as a powerful voice for communities in need of representation.
As an expert in animal behavior, Grandin provides consultation to numerous companies in the meat production industry, developing standards for improving the quality of life for animals on farms or similar facilities.

Q&A Session with Temple Grandin
This presentation will be in English.
Summary: Temple Grandin always responds without hesitation to any question addressed to her. An advocate for individuals with autism and a supporter of their families, Temple is the most well-known person with autism. She openly talks about her life, with all the challenges of a diagnosis received in 1950s America, and her research career that wouldn’t have been possible without her unique way of seeing things. Through her two books, “The Autistic Brain” and “Thinking in Pictures” (available in Romanian in the AHA Books collection by the HELP Autism association), and the open question and answer session, Temple Grandin once again graciously introduces the Romanian audience to her universe.
